Nipmuc Showcase 2024
We are excited to welcome middle school students and their parents/guardians to visit our campus for the annual Nipmuc Showcase. The Nipmuc Showcase highlights how our school’s academics, extracurricular opportunities, and student life are helping students to tap into their curiosities and blaze a trail to their futures. The Nipmuc Showcase will take place this year on Wednesday, January 31 from 6:30pm-8pm with the inclement weather date being Thursday, February 1. There will be more information to follow in the coming weeks.
Galapagos
The Galapagos Islands lie about 500 miles west of Ecuador. Formed from volcanoes, these islands have become famous for a treasure trove of unique plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. Due to their isolation and lack of predators, many of these animals show no fear of humans and will permit close, but respectful, observation. The Galapagos Islands are also what inspired Charles Darwin’s theory on evolution and forever changed what we know about how species evolved. Visitation to the Galapagos Islands is highly restricted but necessary to protect such a special place.
For this trip we have chartered the beautiful and comfortable Motor Yacht Coral I. Traveling by sea is by far the BEST way to see the various islands and its inhabitants. Our itinerary includes stops at Baltra, Santa Cruz, Bartolome, Rabida, Santiago, Isabela, and Fernandina Islands. We will spend each day hiking and snorkeling with free time back on our private boat to relax, eat, and sleep. Expect to see the famous giant Galapagos tortoises, marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, frigatebirds, sea lions, sally light-footed crabs, Darwin’s finches, sea turtles, sharks, penguins, and so much more!
