Welcome Back to Campus!
NMUSD's Level 2: Hybrid Model provides an at-school learning block (either AM or PM) and an at-home learning block.
Please look through the resources in this newsletter so you and your students can have a successful transition back to campus. There is district info and info specific to Newport El's schedules and procedures.

Safety Highlights
Classroom Set Up
Each student will have a clear plastic barrier at their workspace.
Student desks and tables are set up to support social distancing.
Each classroom is equipped with hand sanitizer, wipes, gloves, and additional face masks.
There is an enhanced cleaning routine for the classrooms, restrooms, and throughout the school campus.
Health Screening
Before leaving home every day guardians are strongly encouraged to take their child’s temperature every day and monitor their child for symptoms (cough and shortness of breath) before going to school.
Anyone with a fever of 100.4 F, without fever reducer/pain relief medication, or higher should not go to a school site. When in doubt, please keep your child home.
Do not send ill students to the school site. Personal illness, quarantine, and COVID-19 illness or symptom-related absences will be excused.
Staff are screened upon arrival.
Face Masks
Face masks are required for all students and adult staff.
Your child may wear their own cloth face mask or a disposable mask will be provided for them at the school site.
Neck gaiters, face shields, and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings.
Students who refuse to wear a face covering (with the exception of face covering exemptions as outlined in the School Reopening Plan) could be sent home.
Hand Washing/Hand Sanitizer
All students will wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer throughout the school day.
Students may bring their own personal supply of hand sanitizer for their own personal use.
Social Distancing
Students will be instructed to maintain six feet of social distance throughout their time on the school campus, in the classroom and during outdoor time.
Signage and floor markings are located throughout the school to remind students of the appropriate distance.
Health & Safety Videos
There are three short videos that teach students how to properly wash their hands, wear a face covering, and maintain social distance. Please watch these videos with your child prior to their first day on campus.
Meal Services
Closed Campus
At this time, NMUSD campuses remain closed to all visitors and volunteers. Only students and staff are permitted past the front office. As much as possible, please email or call the office for assistance.
