March is National Nutrition Month!
Let’s talk about the most important meal of the day, Breakfast! Studies show that students who eat breakfast do much better in school than students who skip breakfast. Breakfast eaters can concentrate better, have more energy and have better muscle coordination. Breakfast eaters score higher on tests. Remember to choose a breakfast that is well balanced. A balanced nutritious breakfast contains protein and protein stays in your body all morning. A breakfast that is high in sugar will burn off very quickly and leave you tired and hungry well before lunch. When choosing a breakfast be sure to choose foods that will stick with you and last until lunchtime. Lots of foods contain protein. You can find protein in foods like eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, peanut butter and soy nut butter. Make the healthy choice, eat your breakfast!
