Encounter Christ's Presence - Year of the Eucharist

Encounter Christ's Presence....
Dear RSPS Families,
As you know, this year's AoB theme is "Encounter Christ's Presence." What better time than Christmas to focus on this theme?
We all get sidetracked with holiday shopping, party planning and making arrangements to visit friends and family during this season. However, make point to "encounter Christ's presence" during the season of Christmas. Our 8th graders did a beautiful job with this in their pageant.
Reflect on what the birth of Jesus tells us about God. God so desired a relationship with us, that he became one of us. He did not arrive on earth amidst fanfare and in plush surroundings. Rather, he was born among animals and his first visitors were lowly shepherds from the fields. His first bed was a feeding trough for animals.
There is so much symbolism in just this part of the Nativity. Where Jesus was born and who was first told about his birth was not a random consequence of circumstance. The manger is a sign that Jesus is sustenance for us. His invitation to the shepherds reminds us that He himself is a shepherd to us. He knows each and everyone of us, he loves us, protects us and walks with us. He wants us to love and follow him too. He also wants us to love and feed others.
May your Christmas be filled with love, joy and Christ's presence.

Message from Msgr. Dietzenbach
Dear Parents,
I know you like to take your children to the early mass on Christmas eve. We have 8 early masses this year between St. Paul and Resurrection. Two at each parish at 3 PM and two at each at 5 PM. Not everyone can go the three or it won’t work so if you can, consider the 5 PM which is still very early. There are also later masses in the evening and on Christmas Day for other alternatives. It will be wonderful to see the children back at mass and I hope your new year’s resolution is to come back weekly.

Bag Bingo is Coming and we need YOUR help!
RSPS' annual Designer Bag Bingo school fundraiser will take place on Saturday, February 5th with tickets going on sale in early January. The Bingo committee has been hard at work purchasing purses and bags for this event, but we need your help filling them with themed items. We have created both a Sign Up Genius and an Amazon Wish List for items to fill each bag. Please take a look at both lists and sign up for anything you are willing to donate. For every $15 spent you will receive 1 volunteer hour. The due date for all items is 1/14/22 but earlier is always better! Items can be brought to the school office care of Stephanie Finamore. Please email sfinamore@resstpaul.org if you have any questions. We appreciate your participation in this event and we look forward to seeing you on February 5th!
