Cardinal Courier: June 18th

Where Learning Takes Flight

A Note from Mrs. Tallent

Hey Cardinals,

Wow...I can't believe that we are a couple of weeks away from it being July!!! I hope you are all enjoying your summer and getting to take some time away from work to enjoy family!

I wanted to take a moment to officially congratulate Mr. Matthew Griffin, our FCE Assistant Principal, on being name the next Principal of Timbers Elementary. I couldn't have asked for a better Assistant Principal to work alongside me during my first year as Principal. The relationships he built with our students, staff, and families will not be forgotten. I know that he will continue to do amazing work as he now takes on the role of Principal!

Our AP hiring committee was able to interview several strong candidates to fill the void that Mr. Griffin is leaving behind and unanimously chose Mrs. Tannisha Oyeniyi to be our next Fall Creek Assistant Principal. Mrs. Oyeniyi is coming from Klein ISD where she has been serving as an Assistant Principal! I know she is looking forward to meeting all of our students and families during Cardinal Countdown before school starts.

I would also like to share that my due date is quickly approaching and our family is excited to welcome our little blessing into the world. Ms. Cathy Airola, former Fall Creek Principal and retired Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, will be covering my maternity leave. Ms. Airola, Mrs. Oyeniyi and I will be working closely together to ensure that the beginning of the year goes smoothly. I have been diligently working to ensure that I have things ready for them so they will be able to focus on building relationships and supporting our Fall Creek students and families! I should only be out the first six weeks of school and am planning to return on September 19th. I feel confident that I am leaving the campus in good hands! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me personally at 281-641-3402 or at!

A Note from our New AP: Tannisha Oyeniyi

I am so excited to join Fall Creek Elementary! My passion for student success derives from my 12 years in education as a third-generation educator. One of my greatest joys is watching students develop their own passions for learning with hands-on experiences while embracing new challenges. During football season, you’ll find me cheering on my alma mater, the University of Houston. Go Coogs! In addition to being an assistant principal, I’m a wife to an amazing husband and a mommy to my two sweet girls. Together, we love to travel, spend time at the pool, and sing family karaoke! This upcoming school year, I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and the Fall Creek community as we ensure the success of all students.
