Looking forward to spring!

The 3rd quarter progress reporting cycle ends on March 4th and the 3rd quarter ends on April 8th. IRP Math (skill building extra help class) ends on March 23rd. IRP for ELA begins on 2/23. Students are encouraged to attend these enrichment sessions, especially if they are struggling in the content area. NYS Testing is coming up, be on the lookout for a letter from the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction with more details.

NYS Testing: ELA & Math

As you are all aware, we are utilizing computer based testing this school year for the NYS Exams. It is extremely important that the students come in on testing days with their chromebooks fully charged and ready to go. More information about testing will be communicated in a letter from the Assistant Superintendent's Office. If you have any questions about the testing, please feel free to contact Mrs. Edelman through email or at 845-838-6900 x4144.

Testing dates are as follows:

ELA - March 30, 2022 and March 31, 2022

Math - April 27, 2022 and April 28, 2022

Club & Activity Information:

Kaleidoscope Club (GSA Jr.)

Kaleidoscope Club will meet Wednesday February 23rd with Ms. Assumma and Ms. Varekamp after school.


Jazz Band

The Jazz Band rehearses every Wednesday after school from 2:50-3:30 in F157, the band room. See Mr. Rubinstein if you have any questions.


Yearbook

The yearbook club will meet on 2/23/22 after school in Ms. Holliday's room until 3:30pm. All 6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome to attend.


Chess Club

The next chess club meet is Tuesday, March 8th in room D238 with Mrs. Sypher.


Home & Careers

Group B meets on 2/23 and Group A meets on 3/2. Both sessions run from 2:45-2:35pm.


Art Club

Art club will have meetings on February 23rd, March 2nd, 16th and 23rd. Any new information will go out through google classroom. Any questions please see Ms. Charter.

Modified Spring Sports begin on March 22nd. There is a virtual informational meeting for parents on Zoom on February 23rd at 6:30pm. At the meeting, parents will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about the upcoming season, FamilyID and school based physicals.

Corner Cafe is Open for Business!

The ADL class store (The Corner Cafe) is now up and running! This year it will look a little different as the new class is learning the ropes. Right now the students are currently learning how to stock and keep inventory. So what does this mean for customers? The store is running on an honor system. All items in the store are $1.00. Customers can come in, grab items, and place the money in the "Money Jar!" Check it out and go support the students in B116!

Rombout Recipes

The Culture Team is creating a recipe book to represent Rombout's diverse community! We would like the students to submit recipes that they love! These recipes can be a family recipe, an ethnic recipe, a recipe that is always used for a special occasion, or even just a recipe of your favorite dish. Please fill out this google form to submit the recipe. Some of the recipes may even be featured in our cafeteria for lunch one day! Our candy gram sale was a great success! We delivered about 300 candy grams to students and staff on Valentine's Day! The messages seemed to really uplift everyone that day! You still have time to send a message to your student and have it placed on the Heart Tree. Messages can be sent through this google form. Please send the $1 in with your student and have them bring it to Mrs. Edelman. Thank you for the support of our PBIS program.

Great season Bulldogs!

Congratulations for a great winter season! Our modified basketball, cheer and wrestling finished the season and all of our student athletes should be proud of their dedication and hardwork.
