Resolve to Read More in 2016!

One very healthy New Year's Resolution to make is to read more books. Let's all read more in 2016! Let's keep each other accountable and push our students to read, read, read lots of books! Here's how:

Currently Reading...

To show your colleagues and students what you are reading, promote literacy, and hopefully start good dialogue with others about literature, I will distribute "currently reading" signs to those interested in participating. You can post your sign on your door so all can see what you are reading. Change the title as much as you need by using dry erase markers. If you would like a sign, please email me and I will get one to you.

Professional eBooks for Teachers...

Teachers have access to a useful collection of professional materials such as literature kits, resource guides, personalized learning guides, assessment guides, common core information, and more via NCWiseOwl's ebook collection. Read online with an Internet connection or download for offline reading. If you are prompted to enter a password, it's always wiseowl. Check out the collection here! Over 400 books for educators!

February Is "Love Your Library" Month

Titlewish: Show Your Library Some Love!

The Cougar Media Center will be raising money to add nonfiction and award winning fiction print and ebooks to the collection through Follett's Online Titlewish program. Donations are all made safely online. The money goes directly to our book vendor and the librarian is able to make purchases with the funds from the campaign.

Our goal is to reach $3,000 through the generous donations of our stakeholders and community. Our Titlewish campaign will begin on January 26th and end on February 28th. Please help spread the word by sharing the campaign URL (which will be live on January 26th). To access the page, visit
