WATCH D.O.G.S. KICKOFF SEPTEMBER 20TH
WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative.
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
We believe that all of us want the same things for our kids and these values unite us. This program serves to bring communities closer together based on these values-based goals. Ultimately, our purpose is to change the country for the better by doing our small part to provide support to our educators and encouragement to our children.

KISD OFFERS COURSE FOR SPANISH SPEAKERS
Katy ISD offers a course that is designed specifically to benefit students that speak Spanish at home so that they may continue to develop and further expand their language skills. This course is unique in that it allows the student to obtain 4 language credits in 2 years. Students can earn 2 credits for SpSpSp1/2 in one year, offered at the junior high level, and 2 credits for SpSpSp 3 PreAP/AP Spanish Language in another year. The attached document or the video at https://tinyurl.com/SpSpSpKaty explains and provides further details about the Spanish for Spanish Speakers program.
The exam will be administered September 27, 2022, during the school day at WCJH.
If your child demonstrates an intermediate proficiency level in understanding and communicating in Spanish, your child will have the option to enroll in a Spanish for Spanish Speakers in 8th grade if the course is offered at your junior high, or in 9th grade, at the high school level.
