Roselawn Round Up
Weekly Newsletter for Roselawn Families September 14, 2020
I hope everybody had a great weekend! Students have done a great job the first two weeks of the school year, we couldn't be more proud of those students.
We look forward to getting week 3 underway!

Morning Drop Off and Afternoon Pick Up
Mr. Nelson and I want to take a second and thank all of our families that drop off and pick up. With so many students being dropped off and picked up this school year, we had the challenge of starting the school year.
Your patience as we analyzed the situation and continued to make changes was much appreciated.
Weekend Kids Meals
On Monday, your son or daughter will be bringing home information about our Weekend Kids' Meal program. The program's purpose is to offer children in Bright Beginnings (4K) through Grade 5 meals for the weekends when school meals are not available. There are no income guidelines or requirements, and anyone is welcome to participate in this program. The food is at NO COST to you or your child. If you are interested in signing up your child(ren), please return the form to your child's teacher no later than Friday, September 25. The first distribution of bags will occur on Friday, October 2, for students in 5K-5th grade and Thursday, October 1, for our Bright Beginnings students.
If you have any questions, please email Mr. Nelson at tnelson@cwasd.k12.wi.us or call him at 715-924-2244 ext. 2703. Thank you!
CW Water Bottles
Our C-W water bottles arrived at school towards the end of last week. Each student at Roselawn will get a water bottle to use at school, being that the drinking fountains have been turned off. We still have the water bottle fill-up stations to use to fill up these bottles. Students' names, along with their teacher's name, will be written on the bottles. We are asking our families to wash the bottles at home before our students use them at school. Once they are washed, please send the water bottle back to school in your son's/daughter's backpack.
Please note that our virtual students will get their water bottles in the next distribution of student materials.
Fall Academic Screeners Start this Week
This week 4th and 5th-grade students will begin taking their fall academic assessment. Universal screeners collect educational data in math and reading and allow our staff to obtain a baseline on our students. This data helps guide instruction and determine what students need to become proficient at grade level curriculum.
Students in grades 2nd through 5th take a computer-based assessment called Exact Path, and students in Kindergarten and First Grade are assessed one on one with their teacher using a tool called FastBridge.
