IMMS Future Educators Participate in IMS Read Across America Day
My name is Riley Gardner, and I have been in Future Educators for about a year and a half. On March 6th, 2019 Future Educators visited the Indian Mills Elementary School to read Dr. Suess books to the Kindergarten through 3rd graders. To prepare for this trip, the club designed activities revolving around each Dr. Suess book. Each member had the opportunity to read and interact with two classes.
Personally, I enjoyed how excited the students were about having us there to read and interact with them. Future Educators has taught me how to be a leader and a role model for younger students. I am thankful for everything I have learned from being part of such a great program. Lastly, I want to thank Mr. Carroll for allowing me this opportunity to learn what it takes to educate and inspire younger students.
IMMS Future Educators
By Morgan Rosenthal
Future Educators has done many great things for me and impacted me in many ways. When Mr. Carroll first introduced the idea of this club, I was really excited because this was my dream career. The club has helped me learn how to read to children, teach classes, and work hard to create things including lesson plans. I have participated in this club for three years, and each year has taught me something new. From having six members to many many more, it has been a great experience. The club has taught me so many things about being a teacher. It was one of my favorite activities in Middle School by far and has helped me to develop teaching skills that will later help me in life.
