Believe it or not, it is almost time to register new Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (K) students for the 2023-24 school year!

Please help RUSD include your priorities when planning and allocating resources by filling out a short survey by Jan. 24, 2022. Your input and participation are vital to this process.

Education Services Priorities Section: This survey will be used by our District advisory committees, including parents/guardians and staff, when revising the 2022-23 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP includes our overall goals for students and specific actions we will take to ensure success for all students.

District Budget Priorities Section: Beginning in January, RUSD will begin the budget development cycle for the 2022-23 school year. Understanding staff priorities will assist the District in making upcoming budget decisions.

We are looking for anyone interested in helping us out here at SRES to fill our crossing guard positions. If interested or know anyone that might be, please email our Principal's Secretary at cabedi@rocklinusd.org.

On Friday, February 3, 2023, SRES welcomes local author, Crystel Patterson, to visit with grades K-2nd for our next Author Assembly. The "Inspired to Be..." books are available for presale. Parents/Guardians can order books via Crystel's website or by completing the order form and returning it to the student's teacher.

As all districts continue to experience substitute teacher shortages, Senate Bill (SB) 1397, temporarily waiving the Basic Skills Requirement for the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, becomes effective January 1, 2023.

From January 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024, the Basic Skills Requirement is waived for the issuance of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. This change means that candidates who wish to obtain an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit will only need to provide official transcripts showing the conferral of a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

If you know of any individuals who are interested in substitute teaching and have a 4-year degree but do not have a permit, please encourage them to apply to the Rocklin Unified School District EDJOIN posting (EDJOIN posting). The Human Resource Team will assist these applicants in the process of obtaining an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.

Welcome back to school for the 2022-23 school year. During the upcoming year, MEALS WILL BE FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS!

Although meals are free, we still need families to complete the Federal Meal Application to direct your State and Federal tax dollars to RUSD. This funding is used to provide counselors, intervention and tutoring programs, mental health and behavioral supports, full day TK and Kindergarten programs, and more.
