Ms. Damschroder's 3rd Grade

Week of February 1, 2016

What do I do at home?

Read EVERY night. Find a good book and READ, READ, READ!! You should read for at least 15-20 minutes every day. Make sure you are not reading something that is too easy or too hard. If you need books, let Ms. Damschroder know.

Practice memorizing multiplication and division math facts. if you need flash cards, let Ms. Damschroder know. Students will soon begin timed tests. Students need to know all of their facts before the end of the year. Practice at HOME!

Class Store

A note about our class store came home a while ago. Students are being producers by making something to sell at our store. Whatever students make needs to be small but nice because we will be selling items for a quarter each to other students at school. If you need help or ideas, please let me know. Our store is February 11, and students will need to bring their 30 items in on or before that day. Thank you!

What are we Learning?

Reading: Students are learning about folk tales and are retelling stories.

Writing: Students are working on paragraph writing.

Words: Common Core grammar lessons, making words, guess the covered word

Social Studies: We are working in our economics unit. Students are learning about being a producer and consumer, wants and needs, and goods and services.

Valentine's Day Party

Our party will be on Friday, February 12, 2016. I will send a note home about the party this week. For your information, if students would like to, they may decorate a valentine box and they may bring in valentine cards to pass out. If students choose to pass out valentine cards, they will need to fill out a card for each student.
