Mandatory Staff Task - Georgia School Personnel Survey

All DHHS staff members are required to complete the brief survey regarding our school climate. The Georgia School Personnel Survey is an important part of our CCRPI (school report card). Upon survey completion, please sign-off on the survey by Wednesday, January 25. Thank you!

Mandatory Teacher Task - Online Presence

All teachers at Druid Hills High are expected to have an online presence that it updated regularly for students and parents to view. This can be accomplished by website, Edmodo, or by the Homework Calendar. Please submit site link or pages to Ms. Rascoe by Wednesday, January 25.

Ms. Jackson and Ms. Allen

Please keep Ms. P. Jackson and Ms. Allen in your thoughts in prayers. Both teachers lost a loved one (Ms. Jackson: Brother-in-Law Shawn Rowell, Ms. Allen: Grandmother Ida Lee Miller) last week.

PTSA Annual Auction

The Druid Hills High School Annual Auction takes place Saturday, February 4 from 6:30 - until at the Avondale Community Clubhouse. Through the generosity of community donors, we do have a limited number of free tickets for faculty and staff. This is a fun evening with great food and beverages and for a great cause - to raise tens of thousands of dollars for DHHS instructional programs and athletics!

Teacher Notice of Intent - 2017-2018 School Year

It's hard to believe we are already at day 8 of the second semester. Please use the link to indicate whether you intend to teach at Druid Hills for the 2017-2018. This is not a binding contract; however, it gives the administrative team a head start in planning for next school year. You are always welcome to stop by Ms. Cunningham's office if you would feel better in communicating directly with her.

Curriculum Night - Thursday, January 19

Curriculum Night is Thursday, January 19 from 6-7:30pm. The evening offers an opportunity for you to introduce parents to your classroom, content, expectations, etc. Additionally, this is an opportunity to make a great first impression, one that sets the tone for productive parent-teacher communications in the semester ahead.

Here is the bell schedule (parents will follow their child's schedule)

6:00-6:07 Introduction in Theatre (teachers in the classrooms)

6:13-6:28 1st Period

6:34-6:49 2nd Period

6:54-7:10 3rd Period

7:16-7:30 4th Period

This is considered a critical day for teachers - please contact me immediately with extenuating circumstances only. Additionally, please contact Ms. Huffman if you will be meeting in a location other than your classroom (please make sure to post the location on your door as well).

Teachers with an A/B schedule should discuss with their colleagues where parents should report during that period.

U.S. Presidential Inauguration Instructional Guidance

On Friday, January 20, 2017, the 45th President of the United States will be sworn into office during the nation's Inauguration Ceremony. The peaceful transfer of power that has occurred on every U.S. Inauguration Day is a hallmark of our country's democracy. While there are many events that surround this momentous and historical ceremony, we want to ensure that guidance is provided for school leaders and teachers related to possible instructional activities.

Please find the attached document that provides various instructional opportunities related to the U.S. Presidential Inauguration.
