Flaa's Monday Memo
October 30, 2017
Great Things I Noticed Last Week!
- Mrs. Atkins practicing strategies of engagement that WORK! Scoot activities are not just for elementary kids...Just ask her!
- Our first academic competition of year proves we have some great students that work really hard to achieve and some great coaches who go above and beyond to help our students succeed. Great Job this weekend - Ms. Range, Mrs. Mc Farland, and Mrs. Deafenbaugh
- A pep rally that gives me hope we are changing the climate of Sanger High School! PRIDE - TRADITION - FOCUS
Nuts & Bolts
- The 2nd Six Weeks ends Friday. Grades are due by 11:59pm on Sunday, no exceptions. Please be sure parent contacts are made in advance of a student receiving a failing grade.
- When students are experiencing discipline issues our first call is always to the parents because they need to know. Sharing information with coaches/sponsors is an added benefit but should never be your first call. Our coaches/sponsors are very supportive; however, we need to give our parents the opportunity to help correct behavior too.
- Purple & Gold Award Nomination Form - There will be Purple & Gold Award Nomination forms by the mailboxes for you to fill out if you feel a staff member, student, or community member deserves a "shout out" at one of the upcoming school board meetings. Please turn in to Mrs. Flaa by Wednesday.
- Wednesday Tutoring - The library will be hosting before school tutorials from 7:30-8:00 and after school tutorials from 3:45-4:45 on Wednesdays. NHS students will tutor and Mrs. Wilson will facilitate groups and any 1:1 needs. Please share with your students they will need to sign up by Tuesdays so tutors can be assigned for the next day. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside the library doors.
- STUDENT ENGAGEMENT - It has been proven that the more you engage your students in the learning process the less discipline problems you will have. Take charge of student engagement and watch negative behaviors decrease.
