MATH
Students have been learning about place value. We can round whole numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. We then went on to add and subtract within 1000. Next we covered multiplication one digit by one digit and also one digit by two digits.
This week we started a new unit on word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with unknown variables. This may require us to use drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number.
We will continue to have weekly graded timed tests on basic multiplication and division facts. To meet the standard students are expected to be able to solve a basic fact in 3 seconds. That's 1 minute for 20 problems. Click below for more practice!!
Social Studies and Science
We finished up our unit on consumers and producers with a 3rd grade school store. The students loved making products and selling them!
In science we have been learning about bones and muscles. Vocabulary words and a study guide were sent home this week! We will have a test on Tuesday. Check out the links below for extra practice!
