An awesome start to the school year for Mount Holly Middle School!
Over the summer, MHMS received and processed many new books for our returning students . We used fundraiser money from our read-a-thon to help purchase these books. We checked out 1,096 books to our students the first week of school! The second week of school began our introduction to research with our 8th grade SS students, utilizing NCWiseOwl and NCLive. Upcoming events are our eBook stations that showcase eBooks available through our school and our partnership with the Gaston County Public Library with our Wow Card initiative. We are also so excited that we are using Canva to promote our library. We use Canva to create promotional advertisements and/or snapshots of library happenings. We are so excited to see what this year has in store for us:)

Don't Let the Pigeon Ruin the Library Book!
Kindergarten students at Pleasant Ridge are working hard to teach the Pigeon from Mo Willems' Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus how to take care of his library books. He's had some trouble in the past so he and the kindergartners are making practice library books that tell all about the things you shouldn't do with your book. We are hopeful that he can take care of his practice book so that he (and the kindergartners) can check out library books very soon.
