A Note from the principal
Hello Easley Families!
It was great seeing so many of you for our quarterly award Zooms meetings. It wasn't our usual end of quarter celebration but it was fun to still be able to recognize our award recipients. Each quarter classroom teachers select one student who demonstrates out standing character and one student who demonstrates outstanding effort. Typically, the parents of the the selected students receive an invitation to our Quarterly Awards assembly where we recognize those receiving the awards, reflect on the quarter, talk about the upcoming quarter, and view a slideshow of photos from the nine weeks. We will not have awards for the fourth quarter but we will meet as grade levels once again to view and end-of-year slide show and close out the school year. These meetings will be on Zoom and the invites will be sent out in the next couple weeks.
It's hard to believe we only have four weeks left in the school year. You all have done such and awesome job of partnering with our staff to ensure students are able to make the most of our less than ideal situation. Please don't let up now and continue to login to Google Classroom and complete assignments, join Zoom calls, and read, read, read! I can reiterate enough the importance of daily reading. If your child is only able to complete one academic task each day please make sure the are reading. If you have any questions about how long, or what, they should be reading please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.
2020-2021 PTA Executive Board
It's the time of year where we begin planning for the upcoming school year. If you or someone you know would like to serve on the 2020-2021 PTA executive board please send your name to Max England @ mae.englund@gmail.com. We are looking for President, VP, Treasurer, and Communications. You have until May 20th to submit your name to be on the ballot.

Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a rising kindergarten student? Are you wondering about registration? Durham Public Schools is in the process of creating a new registration process in light of our current situation. In the meantime we are in the midst of planning classes for next year and would like to know who will be registering with Easley. Hopefully we will be starting in July; right now we are planning as if that is the case. Please take a moment and complete the form below.
