Passport to the Globe

We are so excited to announce our Passport to the Globe event is being held this week on Thursday, October 13th, from 6:00-8:00pm. This event features a Steel Pan Drum Concert, Global Cuisine by our WHS Culinary Arts program, cultural booths, displays & demonstrations. There will also be a Kids Zone with multilingual story times & songs, global games & challenges and international themed crafts. This is a fun, community event every year. You can pre-purchase tickets at this LINK. Advanced tickets include samples of cuisine from 9 different countries. Event only tickets will be available at the door for $3 per person and will not include samples of the cuisine. We look forward to seeing you there!

Don't forget that the PSAT is on Wednesday, Oct 12th, for 9th-11th grades. It is a late start date and the PSAT will begin promptly at 9:05am. There will be NO early dismissals during testing time. More detailed information is below.

PSAT, Wednesday, Oct 12th

On Wednesday, October 12th, WHS students in grades 9-11 will be taking the PSAT. There will be no classes on this day. Seniors will be excused for college visits, community service, job shadowing, or other approved activities. Transportation will be provided at the end of the normal school day. Students may elect to leave early with parent permission.

There will be NO early dismissals during testing.

9th-11th grade testers without accommodations will be released at 1:10pm.

Those students with extended time accommodations will be released at 3:05pm.

*Parents DO NOT need to call their student out via the attendance line.

Early pick up will be at doors 1, 2, 3 & 32. Those students riding the bus home will report directly to the cafeteria following testing.

Winter Band Program Call Outs

We are excited to get our 2023 winter seasons underway. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate in Westfield Winds, Westfield Indoor Percussion, Westfield Winter Guard. No prior experience is necessary and coming to the callout meeting is not a commitment to the program. Come find out about how to be a part of our champion programs.

Save the Date! Maze of Madness, Oct 27-28

Bring your family and friends to this Halloween event on October 27th & 28th from 6-9pm! Get ready for a fun, scary time. Admission is $5 and it will be held in the LGI and Union Courtyard. Concessions will be available.

Lifeguard Training

The YMCA in Westfield is offering Paid Lifeguard Training on October 28-30. FREE certification for employees of Westfield YMCA and 22 hours of paid training. Students 16 years and older can attend. Email Alex Van Winkle to apply: avanwinkle@indyymca.org

Varsity Competition Cheer Team places First!

This weekend the Varsity Competition Cheer team took first place at the HSE Royal Rumble Competition. This is their second first place finish this year and they are so excited to be heading into prelims in a few weeks. The partner stunt group Brie, Katie, Rachel, Emaleigh and Charlotte took second place this weekend as well! Congrats to all our teams this weekend- Go Rocks!

Cross Country Teams ROCK Sectionals

Cross Country Sectionals: ROCKS placed 2nd and 3rd overall! Individually, Liz Smith placed 2nd, Sydney Klinglesmith placed 3rd, Sam Hinds placed 5th and Jack Loiselle placed 6th. Regionals is this Saturday, 10/15 in Noblesville.

The Pride of Westfield Shines!

The Pride of Westfield had an absolutely awesome day of competitions this Saturday! First, they performed their show The Dark Horse at the ISSMA State Scholastic Marching Band Prelims - where they earned a GOLD rating with distinction in Music, Visual, and General Effect, advancing them to State Finals on October 22. Then, they headed to Center Grove High School for the Cavalcade of Champions Invitational, where they not only received FIRST PLACE in Open Class A, but also Best Music, Best Visual, and Best General Effect. Huge congratulations to the band and guard, as well as to Mr Muth and Mr Sparks - all of your hard work is paying off!
