ALUMNI DAY
At the First Annual YWLA Alumni Day, YWLA was honored to welcome back alumni to celebrate their Class of 2022 reunion. On January 6th, our first YWLA graduating class participated in an alumni reunion featuring a showcase of college student achievements. With a 100% college acceptance rate, all YWLA alumni are currently enrolled in college, and they came back to YWLA to share their college advice with all current students at YWLA. When girls join YWLA, they form lifelong bonds of sisterhood and YWLA students were excited to learn from the first-hand college experiences of their older YWLA sisters. Special thanks to the Young Women's Preparatory Network (YWPN) for supporting our Alumni Day festivities.
FAMILY GAME NIGHT - JANUARY 27 from 3:30-5:30 PM
YWLA MAKING A DIFFERENCE
YWLA Transformers are change makers. Throughout January, our STUCO members are hosting a drive to support El Paso Animal Services by gathering donations of dog food, pet toys, leashes, pet bowls, beds, kennels, and fleece blankets. They will also be hosting a blood drive with Vitalant on Thursday, January 19th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for students 16 years old and above with parent permission.
This Spring, YWPN will be hosting a collection drive to gather items on our YWLA wish list. Donations being accepted include: school supplies for our teacher's pantry, gently used young adult books for our lending library, college prep books for our college center, female hygiene products for Project Period, and donations of games, legos , and art supplies for our Makerspace. Peter Piper Pizza Benefit Day - January 26
Join us for a YWLA Spirit Night at Peter Piper Pizza on Thursday, January 26th from 11am to 9pm at the 10501 Gateway Blvd W location. Mention the fundraiser at the register and 15% of proceeds will support programs at our campus.

NHS Food Drive Our NHS team hosted a campus-wide food drive and donated food baskets to local shelters and volunteered at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. | STUCO Toy Drive Our STUCO collected toy donations in partnership with El Paso Rhinos for local kids. | NHS Holiday Cards NHS members decorated holiday cards to give to hospital patients. |

Middle School Robotics YWLA hosted the 1st Middle School VEX IQ Tournament with 29 teams. Our 8th grade team 45009R The Scarlet Dragons received the Design Award earning a spot at regionals. | 1st Place EPCC Art Contest Congrats to Elexus Montes who won 1st Place in 3D Art at the EPCC Salute the Arts. | High School Robotics Our high schoolers earned 2 awards at the robotics competition. Team 45009S qualified for State Championship. |
