November 2020 Newsletter

Hello SLHS Families,

It is hard to believe that we are entering November! November means the end of the first quarter and the middle of the college application season. Thank you to the Student Council for organizing two fun weeks of homecoming.The first week was a huge success and looking forward to the second week. On Monday and Tuesday, we recognized five rooms for winning the decorating contest. 9th (203 & 205), 10th (204), 11th (116) & 12th (118). I’d also like to congratulate the Class of 2023 & the Class of 2024 for winning the Tug of War competitions on Thursday & Friday. Thanks to all the students and staff members for all their time and effort.

Senior Athletes

Our Soccer & Cross Country Teams are still competing this Fall and will be wrapping up their season in the next couple of weeks. Each team did recognize their Seniors earlier in the season and I would like to give them a shout out for all their success and leadership. Girl's Soccer: Melisa Cirikovic, Helena Dramm, Claire Fletcher, Amya Hrteau, Kelsey Lereet, Chloe Reardon, Raechel Villani & Cedar Young. Boy's Soccer: Reuben Bernstein, Rijad Cecunjanin, Colter Cheney-Seymour, Adrian Hayden, Bryson Mariano, Taylor Samburgh & Simon Thill. Cross Country: James Catania, Justin Duprey, Andrew Fogarty, Peter Fogarty, Tucker Jakobe, Gwen Mader, Wyatt Martin, Micah McCulley & Caleb Shoemaker. Congrats and Thank you!

60%-70% Content

30%-40% attendance


Juniors and Seniors who are failing one or more classes, will lose their off campus privileges.

Students who are failing more than three classes will be asked to attend work sessions on Wednesdays to get help and get caught up.

Students who continue to fail and not show effort will be asked to attend school four to five days a week.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th. HS Faculty will be available to meet with parents either on a google meet or a phone call from 5:30p.m.–8:30p.m. on the 23rd and 8:30-11:30am on the 24th. Further information on how this is going to work will be communicated later this week. No School on November 24th-27th for Thanksgiving Break and school resumes on Monday, November 30th.

The first quarter end on Friday, November 13th and report cards will be available November 18th on the SchoolTool parent portal.
