2019 Regional Bus Driver Training

June 25, 2019 from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm (Sidney High School)

MRESC Regional Bus Driver Training

Partners: Sidney City Schools, Hardin-Houston Local Schools, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, MRESC, and Ohio Department of Education – Pupil Transportation Office, and Cardinal Bus Sales & Service, Inc.

Overview: The following topics will be addressed during the 4-hour training:

  • Dealing with an Active Shooter (General Session)
  • Shelby County Special Response Team Demonstration (Breakout Session)
  • Effective Verbal De-escalation Techniques (Breakout Session)
  • Ohio Legislative/Operation Rules Update & More (General Session)

Important Note: Some sessions will be held outside.—Please Plan Accordingly

Faculty: Ohio Department of Education's Pupil Transportation Office ; Shelby County Special Response Team (SRT), Mr. Gerald Lenhart, CPI Instructor.

Registration Fees:

  • $28 for Hardin, Shelby and Logan County Public School Districts, Boards of DD, & Career Centers.

  • $40 for school districts outside of the above counties or other agencies/non-profits.

Our Cancellation Policy - Cancellations must be received prior to June 6th. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.

What time should I arrive at the training site? Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the check-in process.

What You Should Bring? Participants should bring a charged laptop in order to gain valuable hands-on experience with the websites.
