Cheetah Chatter Parent Update
Chapel District Elementary School July 27th-August 5th
Working Diligently To Prepare for the 2022-2023 School Year!
Chapel Families,
Happy Summer! I hope you are enjoying this time to relax and rejuvenate. We are busily preparing for the 2022-2023 school year. A reminder that the first day of school is Monday, August 29th. We cannot wait to meet our new Chapel Cheetahs, as well as welcome back our returning families!
Teacher assignment letters are being mailed July 28th for all fully registered Pre-K-5th students, so please be sure to check your mailbox over the next few days. A reminder that we cannot take parent requests for teacher assignments. A lot of time and effort is put into strategically creating class lists to meet the needs of all students. Thank you for your understanding.
Also included in this update (and your teacher assignment letter) is a copy of the CDES School Supply List by grade level for any families who would like to begin their school supply shopping (see clickable link below). We also have extra supplies for any students in need.
Your child’s teacher will be contacting you the week of August 22nd to schedule your parent/teacher meet and greet conference. Parents will have the option of virtual (Zoom) or in-person conferences. These conferences will take place on August 25th and 26th. Teachers will be reaching out to you to determine which date/time works best with your family’s schedule. During your conference, teachers will be asking parents a series of questions in order to best meet your child’s needs for the start of school on August 29th. Families will also be provided with important information for the start of school.
We will hold a CDES New Family Orientation on August 11th in the cafeteria at 4:00 p.m. School administration will be available to review basic school information and answer any questions you may have.
We are excited to share the following promotions and new team members to the Chapel Family!
- Mrs. Krystle Taylor, Assistant Principal
- Mrs. Leslie Beveridge, Reading Specialist K-5
- Ms. Christy Paugh, CDES Front Office Manager
- Mrs. Liz Allen, Kindergarten Teacher
- Mrs. Kelsie Bowser, 1st Grade Teacher

We look forward to seeing our Chapel Cheetah students again on August 29th! We hope our Chapel Cheetah families are spending some quality time together this summer!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kari M. Clow
