Did You Know?

Did you know that Akron High School has a student led wellness team? The Akron High School Wellness Team is a student-led group of individuals that work together to improve the wellness and culture of the Akron High School. This student-led team helps students improve their attendance, grades, critical thinking skills, and positive mindset towards school, community, and peers. This year the AHS Wellness Team has organized many fun activities including: a kickoff celebration, bi-weekly mindset lessons with challenges and journal entries, and monthly challenges. High School students have been broken into teams and are led by teacher team captains. The Wellness Team provides opportunities for teams to win bi-weekly and monthly challenges. The rewards include early lunch release and gift cards to local businesses. The Wellness Team plans to continue to bring students together, lift others up, improve mental health, and create a safer and healthier environment for all Akron students and staff.

Encourage Others Today!

So often the difference between success and failure is belief. Today, decide to be that person who instills a positive belief in someone who needs to hear your encouraging words. Uplift someone who is feeling down. Fuel your team with your positive energy. Rally others to focus on what is possible rather than what seems impossible. Share encouragement. It will help build your relationships. It matters and we all need it.

FBLA Trick or Treat on Main Street

FBLA's annual trick or treat on Main Street was a big hit again this year. Our wonderful Akron businesses and the great fall weather brought out all the ghosts and goblins. Thanks to Mrs. Houston and her FBLA students for putting this together every year. It is enjoyed by the entire community!

FCCLA Halloween Party

FCCLA members and sponsor, Mrs. Peggy Hall, enjoyed a night of bowling and pizza in Sterling last Thursday evening.

National FFA Convention

Three FFA members and sponsor, Mrs. Mollie Dreitz traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National FFA Convention over the weekend. In addition to attending all the things the convention offers, members also enjoyed planting Christmas trees and learning about the Christmas tree industry, touring the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the National FFA Center.

It was a very educational and memorable trip for the FFA members.

Student Success Class Conducts RAMS Rotations

During sixth grade Student Success class, the sixth graders worked in small groups to create posters and presentations about how to demonstrate R.A.M.S. positive behavior. The posters and presentations were displayed this week to elementary classes.
