School Council Nominations
It’s that time of year…!! School Council nominations are OPEN!
The School Council is a group made up of teachers, administrators, parents, and community partners that work together to address school improvement goals. We only meet 5 times per school year, but the meetings are a great way to voice questions and offer suggestions to meet challenges.
We have three parent positions to fill, so if you would like to volunteer your services for a two-year term, or know someone who would be a great addition, please use this nomination form to submit names and info.
All parents (excluding those who work at the school) are welcome to apply!
Deadline to apply is Friday, May 20, 2022 at 5pm.
Media Center Books Due!
**Update 5/13/2022**: We still have 173 books checked out...please help us retrieve our media center materials so that they are available next school year.
If your student has lost/damaged their media center book(s), you may either purchase a replacement copy (hardcover only, please!) or you may pay to have it replaced.
Overdue notices will be coming home this week for any outstanding books.
If you have any questions or concerns, email Ms. Lisa (lisa.odonnell@sccpss.com).
Counselors' Corner
Please click here to do a brief survey to help the school counseling department in planning for next school year. Thanks for your enormous support this year, and we look forward to partnering with you even more in the future.
If your child needs any resources, please reach out to our school counselors, Mr. Wes and Ms. Rebecca. Our School Counseling Website includes all past school counseling department newsletters as well as a list of mental health professionals, if needed.

Wesley Cooper- Upper Elementary and Erdkinder School Counselor
Did you know that Charles Ellis Montessori Academy participates in a Farm to School grant?
Representatives from Savannah Victory Gardens as well as the SCCPSS Nutrition Department work with our students on a monthly basis. Students participate in program activities such as: gardening, farm visits, nutrition, local produce samples, and more. School garden activities encourage healthy eating, get children to try new foods, teach the fundamentals of good nutrition, connect children to the concept of growing seasons, promote healthy outdoor physical activity, and offer students the chance to participate in environmentally meaningful activities.
We need your help. Please complete the short care-giver survey to share your views on the importance of school nutrition and school gardening program. Thank you!

- When I feel peaceful about things I cannot change and I try to live happily with them, I am acting with Acceptance.
- When I feel peaceful about people I cannot change and I try to live happily with them, I am acting with Acceptance.
