How to create an image slideshow.

Before We Start

Please make sure you have read or followed along with "Content Zones" before beginning this tutorial. You will need to have a basic understanding of how to add placeholders and images.

Be Prepared

Please have images ready if you want to follow along with the tutorial. These images can come from the internet or be campus pictures uploaded to netStart.

To obtain URLs to campus images that ARE NOT uploaded:

  • Contact the campus webmaster and ask to upload images into netStart.
  • After the images are uploaded, you will need copies of all the URL links to those images.
  • Paste the URL's into a word document and save.

To obtain URLs to campus images that ARE uploaded:

  • If the image is viewable on the web, right click and copy image address.
  • If the image is uploaded but not on the web, ask campus webmaster to send you links.
  • You may also use URLs to photos uploaded in Smugmug, right click and copy image address the same as from any website.

Step 1

Add an image content zone to the presentation. Copy your first URL into the URL box and select scale to fit. Save your changes.

Step 2

Right click the placeholder, properties. Click add next to the first image item and select image from the drop down list.

Step 3

Give the new image a title, for mine I simply called it "Second Picture". This helps to later identify the picture you are looking for if you, for example, want to remove it. Duration can be left as default of 10 seconds for a slideshow. Paste the URL and select scale to fit.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have added all images.

Step 4

Select Fade (or any other option as desired) next to Transition in your placeholder properties.

You also have the ability to change the order of images by selecting the up or down arrow next to the image you want to move.
