From the Principal's Desk
Thank you to the parents who attended "Coffee Chat with the Principal" this week! I enjoyed our time together. It was a great opportunity to get to know you better. Your feedback and ideas are valued!
I also want to thank our School Council Members who attended this week's meeting. Taking you on Classroom Tours, monitoring our LSPI and sharing all the wonderful things we are doing to support students was one of the highlights of my week. Your dedication to our sweet school, students and staff is inspiring!
All FDES parents, thank you for all you do to help us create a school we can all LOVE!
Your Grateful Principal,
Dr. Barbara Tucker

News from our Media Center
Get ready! The Literati Book Fair is coming our way! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school. We will have two Book Fairs this Spring, so there are even more chances to build your child’s home library!
The Literati Fair takes place from Jan. 27th – Feb. 2nd, and the Scholastic Fair will be here March 16-24.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from January 27th- February 2nd:
· Families are welcome to shop during their child’s class shopping time
· We accept cash from students, all forms of payments from adults
· We suggest putting the cash in an envelope with any requests (my child may purchase one book, two books, etc)
Families may also donate gift cards to the teacher for the classroom teacher. When you or your child are checking out at the register, simply mention that you would like to donate to your teacher, and we will make sure they shop before the Fair ends.
