Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students and Families!
We are getting settled into more of a routine, and students are doing a wonderful job engaging in their classes. For students who have questions about coursework, they should reach out to their teachers in person or via email. We also have tutoring labs where students can get extra support for classes. See the school website for hours and more information.
We are seeking feedback from the families who attended our Open House on August 31st, 2022. Please help us make this event even better next year! Go HERE to give us your feedback. Prizes will be awarded in the next week.
Coming up this week, we are looking forward to the club fair. Clubs will have tables at lunch for students to find out more information about the wide variety of clubs that we offer here at CHS. We know that getting involved in extra and co-curricular activities helps a student succeed in the classroom. Encourage your students to check out the CHS clubs.
Finally, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, 9/15-10/15. The MECHA club has organized a selfie booth and other activities in recognition of this time. Students can see the display in the main hallway.
Have a wonderful week.
Best,
Cari Sloan

Attendance at CHS
To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our attendance process, please remember the following guidelines:
If your student needs to leave class for an appointment or because they are sick, inform the attendance office 30 MINUTES PRIOR to leave time. This will help us ensure that your student receives a note to leave class in a timely manner. Students will not be excused without a note.
Pre-excused absence forms need to be turned into the Attendance Secretary 24 hours PRIOR to leaving for the absence.
To report an absence, call our attendance line at 503-263-7210 or email chs-attendance@canby.k12.or.us.
Please report an absence as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after the absence.
Remember that attendance matters and students who attend class regularly are more likely to stay on track, graduate on time, learn deeply, and get the most from their high school experience.
