Delmae Elementary Invites Parents to Learn More About Language Immersion Program
Delmae Elementary School will hold an interest meeting for parents who would like to receive information about the Language Immersion Program. The Language Immersion Program meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the media center.
The program begins with students in kindergarten classes. In the Language Immersion Program, students are taught using the same South Carolina standards as other kindergarten classes, receiving instruction in both Spanish and English.
The interest meeting is open to all Florence 1 Schools parents with a child entering 5K during the 2020-21 school year. Contact Jen Shepard at Delmae at 843-664-8448 for more information.
Cooking with Kids Event is Tuesday, February 11
Parents and pre-schoolers are invited to Cooking with Kids, a pre-Valentine’s Day event on Tuesday, February 11, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the RN Beck Child Development Center, 1001 West Sumter Street.
The event will include interactive preparation and tasting stations for parents and preschoolers. Chef Corey of Chartwells will lead parents and preschoolers in preparing and tasting at the healthy snacking stations which will include healthy chips, trail mix, smoothies, fruits/veggie dips, sweet potatoes, and much more.
The event is free and open to all parents and pre-schoolers in the Florence area. Cooking with Kids is sponsored by The School Foundation, Chartwells, Florence 1 Schools, the Florence 1 Schools Office of School Readiness and food vendors of Florence 1 Schools.
National Touring Company to Perform for Florence 1 Students
The performance seeks to inspire young audiences with the stories of everyday Americans who stood up for their beliefs and worked to make the world a better place.
The performances will be held Wednesday, February 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Middle and at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Middle. On Thursday February 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Southside Middle will host the program.
