Second Annual Glocester Heritage Society Perennial Plant Sale

Saturday, September 2, 10 a.m. to noon, Job Armstrong Store, 1181 Putnam Pike, Chepachet

Join us at the Second Annual Perennial Plant Sale and take home plants for sun or shade, native as well as non-native, all healthy and labelled clearly so you will know exactly what the plants are and where to plant them in your home garden. URI Master Gardeners will be available to answer all your questions. Bring a cart and cash (no credit cards accepted) and leave with some beauties!

Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries. Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.


Weekly Take and Make Crafts

Children of all ages, visit both libraries weekly to pick up a craft! Craft kits will be different at each location. Some kits may require help for younger crafters.


Kids’ Craft Program - Liquid Watercolors on Canvas

Tuesday, September 12, 5 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Ages 5 and up

Join us for a craft program that uses liquid watercolor paints to make a fun design. We will then use clear glue and rubbing alcohol to add to the design. All materials will be provided.


Minecraft

Thursday, September 21, 5 p.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: Ages 6 and up

Join us at the library to play Minecraft Bedrock edition! The library will be providing realms so only our library participants will be joining us. Four laptops will be available for use. If you need one to use, please register. Registration is not required if you are using your own device with Minecraft Bedrock on it.


LEGO Club – Challenge: a structure with moving parts

Tuesday, September 26, 5 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Ages 5 and up

Your LEGO Building Challenge will be to build a structure with moving parts. After the challenge, we will give children the opportunity to get creative and build anything they choose with LOTS of LEGOS! They can work on their own creations or build as a team. The library will provide the LEGOs, while the children provide the imagination! We will then display your creations in the library.


Fall Bingo

Join us for a fall themed bingo! Win fun prizes and enjoy time with friends.

Teen Pumpkin Wreath

With a wire wreath, beads, flowers and ribbons, make your own unique pumpkin wreath! All supplies will be provided.

Fearless Art

Wednesday, September 13 and September 27, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Adults of all ages and artistic abilities looking to experiment with painting and drawing are invited to join the group. We have created a supportive atmosphere for people to come together, explore art, find their own artistic style, and be inspired and influenced by others. Currently, we are exploring watercolor and will continue in that direction. This is a group-guided art adventure! Join the journey!


Writers’ Group

No registration required

Share your writing with your peers! The Harmony Library Writers’ Group is open to writers in all genres and forms, including poetry. In September, writers will read excerpts from their current work and discuss it. For information, phone Pat Kenny, Reference and Technology Librarian, at 949-2850.


Gelli Plate Printing Workshop

Tuesday, September 19, 11 a.m., Glocester Manton Library

Gelli Plate printing is a form of mono-printing that incorporates color, texture, and images to create a unique design. Using a gelatin-based plate, you will apply paint with a roller and create a design with stencils, paint brushes, and/or found objects. This is a one-off printing technique that is fun and can be addictive. All materials will be provided.


Tuesday Movie Matinees

Each Tuesday matinee offers a new release on the big screen and light refreshment. Bring a friend! In September, the movies include:

Paper Quilting Workshop

Tuesday, September 26, 6 p.m. and Wednesday, September 27, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library

Participants will learn how to fold multi-colored paper into a geometric pattern, mimicking a quilt, all of which will be housed within a decorative picture frame. All materials will be provided. Participants should register for only one session. Note: Registration will open on Tuesday, September 5, at 6 p.m.
