Jordan's life
Barbara Jordan was the first black women to become an American politician. She believed that you need to know every rule in life, she also believed that the American dream would never die. She knew that her gender and race didn't make up who she was inside.
early life
Barbara Jordan lived in all black neighbor as a child and even an adult for a couple years. She went to law school in Boston. She also launched her first ever bid for the public office during her tike with her parents after collage, it took her two more tries before she made history.
middle life
In 1996, Barbara Jordan won a seat in the Texas legislature, now she is the first ever black women to do so. Soon, she moved herself up to the House of Representatives. She is famous for her keynote address. When she announced that she wouldn't seek reelection no one understood why, everything became clear when it was announced that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. With her time off she decided to write an autobiography. After publishing her biography she accepted a professorship to UT.
later life
Even though she was a teacher at UT she stilled did things for the public. In 1992, she delivered a speech to her party and rallied them like she had done 16 years earlier. The nation mourned when the day came for Jordan, January 17, 1996, she died because of her battle against leukemia.

Barbara Jordan has always believed that your brain is more important then your gender and race. She always was quick to stand up to people doubting what she was capable of because of silly things such as, gender and race.
