Activity Highlights: Wrap-Up of Fall Sports Season
The Fall Sports season here at BMHS has come to a close. There were many highlights and great accomplishments throughout the season by our athletes and teams. Thanks to all the BMHS fall teams and athletes for representing Berea-Midpark High School so well this season.
Cross Country
The 2019 season provided an outlook for the future of the Titans Cross Country program. The girls team was paced by seniors, Megan Thai and Shura Ermakov, as well as freshman newcomer, Brooke Bechtel. Both Thai and Bechtel qualified for this year’s OHSAA Regional Meet. The boys team had a roster of several strong freshman who hope to continue to grow the program next fall.
Football
Despite a record of 4-6 on the year, the young Titans showed a lot of growth throughout the season, winning their final three games of 2019. The final record had the Titans finished tied for sixth in the conference.
Golf
As Berea-Midpark continues to grow the sport of golf in its communities, the Titans had several accomplishments in 2019. The girls team had its best finish in the school’s seven years, finishing fifth overall in the SWC Tournament, as well as compiling several wins along the way. The boys team, while young, had a large number of students come out this season, and hopes to build on that interest next fall.
Soccer
It was a record-breaking season in soccer for the Titans. The girls team won the most games in team history while also bringing home its first SWC Title and OHSAA District Championship. On the boys side, senior goalkeeper, Zachary Zeleznik, set the school record for most saves in a season with his tremendous play.
Girls Tennis
With roster numbers in the twenties this fall, the girls tennis program continues to grow. They finished the 2019 season in seventh place overall with several exciting victories in the conference tournament.

Plastic Shopping Bags Needed
Key Club, at both BMHS and BMMS, are collecting plastic shopping bags of any shape, size, or color, even with holes in them. The bags are being used to make water-proof mats for the homeless. Please bring your bags to Ms. Lyon in Room 134 at the high school and Room 223 at the middle school. Thank you for your help in re-purposing plastic bags!
