NSAE MOVE - summer 2023
Dear Bulldog Families -
I am excited to announce that the Leadership Council voted to approve the move of North Shore Academy Elementary to the Rubloff Building on the Red Oak Campus where North Shore Academy and the District Services Center are located. As mentioned in Dr. Schneider's letter, the past three years, TrueNorth has gathered input from the Leadership Council, Finance Committee, architects, a construction management firm, TrueNorth and member district staff, and district attorneys to create a plan for construction implementation to most efficiently and flexibly use the Red Oak campus immediately and into the future. We are thrilled that the plan includes a new space for NSAE students that will more suitably meet their needs.
NSAE has been leasing its current building for years. The landlord at the Northbrook location of North Shore Academy Elementary has asked TrueNorth to vacate the space in the summer of 2023 so it can be used for a different purpose. This means NSAE will need to relocate after Extended School Year (ESY) in July of 2023.
Because of this information, TrueNorth has decided to make modifications and changes to its current buildings on the Red Oak campus to prepare for the NSAE students. This is great for us because it allows for us to be closer to the rest of our TrueNorth staff and students. Additionally, this provides our NSAE students with more access to the older students who come over for reading buddies. We can expand our connections with the NSA students and staff. The possibilities will be endless once the distance has been removed. Furthermore, the facility options on the TrueNorth Campus include a more accessible playground space, gym, and learning spaces with more amenities.
While I am sure that this is both exciting and creates a little anxiety, as all change does, please know that I will be in contact along the way to provide up to date information as I receive it. I will add a section to my weekly Bulldog Bulletin dedicated to the “NSAE Move.” In this section, I will communicate you with the most updated information I have as a way to ease the anxiety of the transition as I know change is hard. I will host a principal coffee and tour of the Rubloff Building with information about construction plans, new space amenities, and other details. I will communicate a timeline with the hosted events in the near future.
This move is a huge win and opportunity for NSAE. We will be able to make the space ours and incorporate NSAE culture into the building. With any new construction, it is exciting for our whole NSAE family! I look forward to sharing this journey with you!

The Principal's Pound
Thanksgiving is a time to sit back and ponder on how grateful you are for the little things and even the big things. I am grateful for this job as I had no idea how much joy and smiles I would receive on a daily basis from students, staff, and families. Additionally, I am blown away by the constant generosity of you, our families, with your donations and support to our school for the sake of our students. You amaze me and have brought me to tears literally with how thoughtful you are. I am honored to be the principal of your student's school.
As always, please let me know how I can help you as an individual or family, so we can be the best supportive team for your student!
Enjoy your week ahead!
