WE NEED MASKS! - CAN YOU DONATE?
More students are arriving each day without masks and we are running out!! Please make sure your student gets out of the car with a mask on, masks are still required to enter all GISD buildings.
In order to comply with Texas Education Agency and to keep everyone safe, students must arrive on site each day with a face covering in place (pg. 22 of the Reopening School Instructional Guidebook). The handbook is updated as official guidelines and orders change from local, state and federal authorities.
It is important that your child has a face covering that is designed to fit them properly. While each campus has a limited supply of disposable masks, the best defense is using a mask that fits snugly against your child’s face.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website has excellent information regarding the wearing of masks.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Take care of yourself and stay safe.

Counselor's Message
During this past guidance cycle, we talked about worries and test anxiety as part of our social and emotional learning. Children are reminded to recognize their body’s messages and remember to self-regulate in a healthy way.
We also talked about how to recognize when others might need our support, and remembered how we can help our fellow classmates. Talk with your child about how they can help themselves and others.
Below are some additional resources that you can try at home!
