Cyclone Central Friday eFolder
October 26, 2018
Next Week is Red Ribbon Week - Oct. 29 through Nov. 2
Every year at Center Elementary, staff and students take the time to celebrate Red Ribbon Week! During this week, and the weeks leading up to and following, Center focuses on two key characteristics that we strive for every Caring Center Cyclone to show and have; kindness to others and making healthy and safe choices!
During the week of October 29th, Center School will take time to continue focusing on those themes with fun dress down days, informative and fun announcements, and poster and coloring contests for all students to help them critically think of their kindness towards others and their ability to make healthy and safe choices!
Please see the below flier for additional information on the themed days and dress down days!
Monday - wear red clothing
Tuesday - wear favorite or crazy socks or hat
Wednesday - switch to Halloween costumes in the afternoon right before the parade
Thursday - wear pajamas
Friday - wear career or Interests clothing

HALLOWEEN PARADE/PARTY - Wednesday, Oct. 31
Halloween Parade 1:15 p.m.
Halloween Parties 1:45 p.m.
Visitors attending the parade should enter the building at door #2. (This door goes directly into the gym). Visitors will be asked to sign in and find a seat in the gym to enjoy the parade. The doors will open and parade sign-in will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Party Set-Up/Costume helpers should enter through the main office at 1:00 p.m. to sign-in. Those helping with party set-up and costumes prior to the parade will be provided with a Halloween Party Set-Up/Costume Helper badge to wear on this day.
Once all classes have paraded through the gym and returned to their classrooms, parents/visitors will be dismissed from the gym and may join the homeroom parties to help celebrate.
Visitors may take pictures, but please refrain from posting pictures that include children other than your own on any social media (see handbook language below).
Photographs at School Events
While it is permissible to take photographs of your own children at school events, it is not acceptable to photograph other children without parent/ guardian consent. We ask that all parents/ guardians refrain from taking pictures at school events which may include other children.
Should the school event be one where it may be difficult not to include other students, such as a concert, play, or athletic event, we ask that no pictures are emailed, texted, posted to social media and/or online networking media, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, Skype, blogs, Instagram, without the expressed written consent of all students parents/guardians in the photograph.
Thank you to all who will be here to help create a fun, friendly and safe environment for our students on this day!
Halloween Costumes, Snacks
While planning your child’s costume for our school parties, please put an emphasis on positive types of characters rather than representations of scary, violent, or fighting characters. As in the past, children will not be allowed to bring any type of toy weapon to school. Masks may not be worn for safety reasons. Bare midriffs and plastic toy shoes will not be permitted. Parents joining in the fun are welcome to also dress up, but again, masks may not be worn.
