2015-2016 Concert Dates
Music concerts for parents are at 2:00 p.m.
5K- “All Things February” Concert on Thursday, February 25th
1st Grade- Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 17th
2nd Grade- Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 3rd
3rd Grade- “Celebrating the Regions” Concert on Tuesday, May 17th
4th Grade- Wisconsin Program on Tuesday, April 19th
3rd and Fourth Drama Club
Drama club is an extra-curricular activity, in which students work together to put together a musical over a period of five to six weeks. Rehearsal times/dates may vary a little but are usually scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
4th Grade Drama Club
Students will have the opportunity to perform “The Emperor's New Clothes” in fourth grade drama club. Drama club students will perform on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. for parents. Student sign-up packets will be sent home with students in mid-September, and rehearsals will begin in late September.
3rd Grade Drama Club
Students will have the opportunity to perform “Of Mice and Mozart” in third grade drama club. Drama club students will perform on Friday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. for parents. Student sign-up packets will be sent home with students in late January, and rehearsals will begin early February.

Consequences for Individual Behavior
When a student breaks one of the rules of the music room, I will say:
Yellow-1st time, Orange-2nd time, Red-3rd time
When I say red, the students must go back to the reflection chair and fill out a Think Sheet.
Here are the concepts the students and I will be working on this year.
Kindergarten- Speaking vs. singing; Keeping a steady beat; Moving to classical music; Playing hand-held instruments (like rhythm sticks, sand blocks, and hand drums).
1st Grade- Singing and reading melodies with so, mi, and la; Chanting and reading rhythms with quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests; Learning about musical form (AB or two-part form).
2nd Grade- Singing and reading melodies, with do, re, mi, so, la; Chanting and reading rhythms with half notes, half rests, dotted half notes, whole notes, and whole rests; Learning about musical form (AB or two-part form; Rondo form)
3rd Grade- Singing and reading melodies with do, re, mi, so, la, high do, low so and low la; Chanting and reading rhythms with whole notes, whole notes and rests, and syncopation; Learning about and attending an age-appropriate opera performance
4th Grade- Singing and reading melodies with fa and ti; Chanting and reading rhythms with dotted quarter notes and eighth notes; Learning about the families of instruments and attending a symphony orchestra performance; Playing the recorder
4th Grade Recorders
Fourth graders will start recorders in February, so I will be making a purchase in mid-January. Look for information about recorders in early January. I will order recorders through Macie Publishing. You will purchase the recorder through Skyward.
