How often do students come to the library?

Kinder - 1st students come to the library every week. They check out books, listen to stories, participate in library stations and different activities. For 2nd - 5th grade students, we have an open library schedule and they are allowed to come to library whenever they need to. They also come with their class for a library lesson and check-in/checkout time as their teacher requests.

How many books can I check out?

Kindergarten & 1st graders = 1 book

(signed Library Media Center Permission Slips need to be returned before students are allowed to take library books home)

2nd - 5th graders = 2 books (An extra book is allowed while researching)

When are books due?

Student check-outs are for 2 weeks. They are allowed to recheck a book if they need more time to finish it. Students will receive an overdue notice for all materials that are checked out longer than 2 weeks.

Do you charge fines?

We do not charge fines for overdue books, only lost or damaged books. Books are marked lost when over due by 2 weeks. A student is expected to pay for lost or damaged books before continuing to check out more library materials.

Can parents check out books too?

ABSOLUTELY! Come see us in the library and get signed up as a Library Patron. Parents are allowed to check-out 2 books. When you are finished with them, you may send them back with your child or come to the library and get 2 new books. The check-out time is 2 weeks.
