Our future rests in the Children
Children working from 14-16 hours By: Bailyn Alt
Children working for hours
Children support there families
Children every age work
Children hold our future in THERE hands
The problem is that children are working in unsafe places and aren't earning enough pay to help support there families the reason children are working is because adults aren't getting enough pay and are having there children go and work.
Is this problem solved.
This problem is solved by laws being created like the Fair Labor Standards Act that help the wages. And the National Industrial Recovery Act in 1924.
A quote by Florence Kelley
"We have, in this country, two million children under the age of sixteen years who are earning their bread. They vary in age from six and seven years (in the cotton mills of Georgia) and eight, nine and ten years (in the coal-breakers of Pennsylvania), to fourteen, fifteen and sixteen years in more enlightened states."
