What is a flood?
A flood is a form of natural disaster when there is a large amount of water beyond what is normally dry land.
Where can floods happen?
Floods can happen on broad and flat land, near the banks of a river or a main waterway.

When are floods most likely to occur?
A flood is most likely to occur when there is a storm or rainfall.
How do floods happen?
Floods happen when too much water fills lakes or waterways.Heavy, intense rainfall, ice jams in rivers and frozen soil can create too much water.
