Raise the Roof
This Week
Our week was short but busy! We continued with our January theme of community helpers, which included a construction zone in the play area. We practiced our fine/visual motor skills by hammering nails into a foam board, stacking boxes, and coloring our community helper books. At the art table, we played with moon sand and painted police vests. At the blue table, we sorted objects by size and put together counting cubes.
During P.E., we rode tricycles and worked on steering our bikes along the path. During speech, we took turns with community helper matching boards, and we made scenes with stickers to represent our neighborhood. With our friends from Room 4, we had music time, played Hungry Hungry Hippos, and made green dino slime & red flubber!
More Highlights
1. Fire Department visit - the whole school got to go check out the firetruck and firefighters that came to visit on Tuesday!
2. We had a new student, Lincoln, start in our class. Welcome, Lincoln!
3. We celebrated Matthew's birthday this week - thank you so much for the goodie bags!
Next Week / Reminders
Next week we'll be wrapping up our community helper unit.
As a reminder, please make sure to label your child's items (backpack, jackets, etc.) to avoid them getting lost or mixed up. Also, please send snacks and lunch in a lunchbox so that we can keep containers together. Thank you
Happy Friday!
