Boggess Families,
What a great week we have had at Boggess!
It has been fun seeing parents enjoying lunch with their children in the cafeteria.
Our students have done a great job on the MAP assessments and we are so proud of their hard work and focus.
We celebrated our students who participated in the PTA Reflections contest. Many of them will move on to compete at the next level.
Congratulations to our Boggess Student Council Officers. We look forward to working with you and our campus representatives . Your input, social service and leadership will be invaluable.
Congratulations to Gavin and Alice who are District Finalists in the MLK Writing Contest. Out of the 10 finalists, two are Boggess Bengals. What a great accomplishment!

Parents,
As we gear up for College, Career, & Military Readiness Week in January (January 17-21st), I am asking for your help!! I would LOVE for the students to be able to see parents on our CCMR video. I am asking that parents send me a short 1-2 minute video explaining their career! Ideally, we would showcase a variety of careers, both college-based and non-college based!
If you are able to do this project, please email me the video at jamie.wells@pisd.edu BY January 7th at the latest.
I truly appreciate all you do for our Boggess students.

K-5 Districtwide Virtual Code Night
All Plano ISD students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to participate in Plano ISD’s Code Night taking place virtually on Wednesday, December 8, from 5:00-6:15 p.m. Registration is required via this form. Families who need Spanish translation should indicate so on the registration form.
Superintendent Sara Bonser will kick-off the event, which will be followed by a coding lesson provided by the Family Code Night team. The event will introduce families and their students to coding and computer science using fun puzzles and special tips.
For the evening, participants will need a charged Chromebook, laptop or PC, and Internet access. Families who need assistance obtaining Internet access should contact their school’s campus technology assistant.
The goal of this event and the Plano ISD PK-12 Computer Science Program is to provide opportunities for students to learn to code in every grade level. Families can learn more about opportunities offered in the district at www.pisd.edu/computerscience. District science coordinators are currently writing a curriculum for K-5 elementary computer science that will allow students to engage with coding learning opportunities during the school day.
Questions should be directed to Dan Blier, Plano ISD computer science curriculum specialist. An event flyer is available in English and Spanish.
