Tuesday Tidbit
Tuesday, March 3
Good Afternoon!
Over the course of the coming weeks, we will be sharing a little nugget of information each Tuesday related to Propositions C&S. For example, did you know that staffing and salaries can only be paid for with operating funds from Fund 1 (General) and Fund 2 (Teachers)? Each of the District's four funds has an associated tax rate that makes up the District's total tax rate (currently $4.7586). The District's combined tax rate that generates funds to pay for staffing and salaries is the lowest in St. Charles County. There has not been an increase in the District's operating tax rate in over 15 years for staffing and salaries. During that time, the District has added over 8,600 students.
Props C&S are on the April ballot to address the District's continued growth: both for additional classroom space (Prop C) and funds to hire more staff and address pay discrepancies with neighboring districts (Prop S), as well as safety needs across the District (Props C&S). For more information about both propositions, visit the WSD website. #Building4OurFuture
Don't forget: If you are not registered to vote, or if you have moved or changed your name, the deadline to submit the registration application in order to vote in the April election is next week - March 11.
