Watergrass Elementary Volunteer Opportunity
The Watergrass Elementary PTA is excitedly planning our Spring Carnival on April 6th. It is a free, family fun, end of the year celebration for our students. We have a ton of games, interactive experiences, inflatables and stations planned out to make this an "owl-mazing" end of the year event for our students.
We can't wait to host this event for our students, but we are in need of high school volunteers to assist. Sign up here:

If your child is interested in summer dual enrollment:
The Summer 2023 Online Registration Worksheet is now available on our Pasco DE webpage with important upcoming dates and deadlines for Summer Registration.
Our school counselors are planning a summer dual enrollment paperwork day on March 28th where they will sit with your student to review eligibility and discuss courses your student may wish to take. A QR code will be available for your student next week to schedule their individual appointment, please note the following important information that needs to be completed before their meeting:
- Do they meet the 3.0 GPA requirement?
- Do they have passing PERT scores or are they signed up to take the PERT at KRAI or PHSC?
- The application found at the link must be completed before meeting with our school counselors.
- A draft version of the course worksheet should be completed for discussion with the school counselors.
If found eligible, your student will need to complete the online orientation before being able to register in April. If found eligible and your student is taking an online course, they will need to complete the online readiness course before being able to register in April. IMPORTANT: Dual Enrollment students are only eligible for TERM III (5/8/23-7/13/23).

What is the P.E.R.T.?
The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) is Florida’s new common placement test. This test is used by all 28 Florida colleges to determine whether or not a student is ready for college credit courses in math and English. The P.E.R.T. has been aligned with the Postsecondary Readiness Competencies that Florida’s faculty have identified as necessary for success in entry-level college credit coursework. The test vendor, McCann Associates, has worked collaboratively with the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Florida Colleges and Florida College System faculty to develop and tailor items to faculty specifications. P.E.R.T. is comprised of three 25-item, computer adaptive subtests in reading, writing and mathematics.
Florida College System institutions began administering the P.E.R.T. in October 2010.

Donations needed for monthly incentives
Attention KRAI Families!
We are planning monthly incentive days to reward your students for being on track with their attendance, academics and behavior. We are in need of some fun items to use these days. We are focusing on outdoor games and board games, but hope to expand to include gaming, arts and crafts, etc. If you have any of the items on our wish list that you'd like to donate, please reach out to Gwen Hodge at ghodge@pasco.k12.fl.us to arrange a drop off time. If you wish to purchase from our wish list, the items will go directly to KRAI.
