Wednesday Word
August 16th, 2022
From the Principal
Dear Sunflower Families,
We have officially welcomed our class of 2035 into the building. Our Kindergarten Eaglets completed their first day today. Tomorrow we will welcome all our scholars. We will have a short Wednesday Word today with just a few reminders for the start of school:
1. If you have not read our last Back to School communication you can find that HERE. This was sent out last week and has a lot of information about the start of school logistics. Please watch it especially if you have just completed enrollment.
2. Breakfast eaters can enter at 8:20, all other students will enter at 8:30 at the main entrance. Students must exit out of the passenger side. Please stay in your cars and staff will help students out of cars if needed.
3. We have a lot of dismissal tags still in the office. If you plan on using the car line on the first day and do not have one of these please come to the office tomorrow between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 or 12:30-4:00 to pick it up. You will have increased wait times if you do not have one.
4. Be patient the first couple of days with the dismissal procedures. We are exiting 475 scholars at one time and we have a lot of new families who are learning the systems. Dismissal will take longer the first few days as we are all learning the procedures. A few reminders about dismissal:
- No dismissal changes are taken after 3:00.
- We will not release any student after 3:30.
- Please do not walk up to the front doors after 3:30 to pick up students, you must be in the car line or on the playground to pick up walkers.
- Dismissal starts at 3:50.
- Students must be loaded on the passenger side.
- Please do not get out of your car, staff will help load students.
5. Don't forget to bring a labeled water bottle.
