Arise: Get up, Get Going & Go with God!

We are happy to continue to support St. Jean Baptiste Parish by offering END's gym as the interim site for the parish to host weekend masses as the rebuilding efforts are underway. We have assisted in organizing Little Angel's Liturgies at the 9:00 AM mass on Sunday's. We encourage families to refer to the parish website linked below for mass times and further information.

All families are welcome for St. Jean Baptiste Family BBQ following 10 am Mass on Sunday June 19th. Please note that there will only be one Mass on this day. During Mass, Father Trini will bless the AMAZING Father’s on this special day. After Mass Fr. Trini will acknowledging the great work of the volunteers of our parish. We will be attempting to capture all who have given of themselves, but if someone is missed on this day, please be assured that they will be recognized at a later date. After recognition of volunteers, there will be a barbeque hosted by the St. Jean Baptiste Parish council and the Knights of Columbus. In order to provide sufficient food, we are requesting that people pre-register for this event. There is a BBQ and volunteer sign up sheet located at the back please RSVP for this event. “Deadline is June 12th this will be a no cost event, but donations are welcome.

Serving Our Community

Our final service project of the year found us 'Feeding the Hungry', as we collected fresh, unopened cereal boxes that were donated the Morinville Food Bank. To have some fun with this initiative we gathered as as school community to watch some 'Cereal Box Dominos'! This was a fun and energetic event for all! Well Done!

New Husky Logo

As we reimagined our general school logo a couple years ago, so too is it time to update our Husky logo. Over the last two weeks students had the opportunity to vote on our new Husky logo design, the winning design was revealed last Thursday to rave reviews! We will be working in the upcoming months to update our spirit wear and school swag with the new design! Go Huskies Go!

Parent Council

Thank you to all our parent volunteers and especially those members of our Parent Council! We are grateful for the wonderful initiatives and school based events they have planned and provided for our school community. Our Family Dance was a great success and wonderful opportunity for our students and families to engage in some summer beach fun! We are so thankful for our END family community for joining us for these events and we are looking forward to many more in the 2022/2023 school year!

We are already planning for our Parent Council for the 2022/2023 school year. Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 6:00 PM at the school. We are always looking to welcome new members and will be seeking nominations for the 2022/2023 executive.

We ask all families to consider participating in our Parent Council to share your voice, and work with us to build a nurturing, inclusive and welcoming school community that seeks to serve each other and all of our students!

GSACRD Voice - It's what's on the inside that matters!

We live in a world that seems to be driven by aesthetics. TV, movies, social media… everything points to the importance of being “beautiful”. But who is to say what is and isn’t beautiful? This idea that looks are all that matters can be quite damaging to the self-esteem of children and youth.

We are all wonderfully amazing in our own ways. We can empower ourselves and our children to be all that they can be by choosing our words carefully and using compliments that will help boost self-esteem regardless of what someone looks like. Take a moment to read the list created by Big Life Journal of compliments that you can use that have absolutely nothing to do with how someone looks - these are the words that may help your child feel more confident and positive about who they are!

Nature Kindergarten

Attention all 2022/2023 kindergarten families!

Nature Kindergarten is an extension program that will afford those students registered with the opportunity to experience learning through play in an outdoor environment. This program will provide students the opportunity to spend the entire day at END, mornings will find participation in the regular kindergarten classes (either French Immersion or English stream), followed by participation in Nature Kindergarten in the afternoon. There are still spots open for registration! For more information please contact the school and visit the link below.

Year End!

As we make our way through the month of June, we begin winding down another school year! Though we may be winding down, we are really 'revving up'! Many classrooms have field trips planned, we will be hosting a school wide 'FUN DAY' for our kids, as well as, hosting both a Kindergarten Grad and Grade 5 farewell. With all of these exciting opportunities coming our way in the month of June, we ask families to continue to stay in communication with classroom teachers to ensure permission forms are returned, fees are paid and that families are aware of all events. As always, should anyone have questions, please feel free to contact the school office.

COVID - 19 - Protocol Update

In light of the lifting of all remaining restrictions related to COVID-19, GSACRD will be discontinuing its practice of reporting positive cases to the school community via email and on our Division website.

While we understand that it is no longer mandatory, it is still strongly recommended to isolate for 5 days after testing positive for COVID-19. Moving forward, it will be a continued expectation that students and staff stay home when experiencing symptoms of illness. This practice will be the new normal, as we aim to reduce the spread of viruses and infections in our schools.
