There are exactly 11,842 lakes in Minnesota. The saying is 'The land of 10,000 lakes', but that is not true.
Lake Superior
Lake superior is partly in Minnesota, and partly in Wisconsin. So technically it is not the largest lake in Minnesota. But, it is 350 miles long, and 160 miles wide. It has a big meaning to the Native Americans.
