News from Westfield Elementary School: February 17, 2020
A Note From Principal Hewick
Hello Westfield Family~
Hope you are enjoying this President's Day! Thank you to Jackie Rickert for organizing all of the Valentine's Day classroom party volunteers. Likewise, thank you to all of the parents that donated supplies, planned activities, and volunteered their time to participate in the party festivities. This was our last all school classroom party this year. The kiddos enjoy these experiences celebrating with their friends!
Just a reminder that Disability Awareness Week is coming up the week of March 2 through March 6, Westfield students will engage in activities designed to challenge their thinking about visible and hidden disabilities. Students at all grade levels will learn more about how people with disabilities are the same and different. You can learn more about the Disability Awareness curriculum through the document attached to this email. It's not too late, there are still a handful of volunteer opportunities available if you would like to come in and experience/assist with activites. The signup is available right HERE.
The volunteer shifts are for part of a school day and require no special expertise. Volunteers would also need to attend a training session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 in the cafeteria at Glen Crest Middle School.
Thank you for your support of our school and this empowering event. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Have a great day!
~Stacey
