Principal's Perspective
What a joy it has been to get our first full week under our belts and really establish our procedures here at school. Building our classroom communities and getting to know one another better has been a focus as we make small gains each day for your child's social, emotional, and academic progress!
We also love connecting with so many families at our 1st-4th grade parent information night last night. The relationship between you and the teacher is an essential part of us being supportive of your child. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher as the year progresses with any questions regarding their wellbeing and success!
Enjoy your weekend!

Mary Beth Riley

Hello families!
It has been a great start to the year. It has been fun to see all the students get settled into their new classes. It was also great to see so many of you last night at parent information night!
Safety Snippet
This year, we will conduct monthly safety drills. Most often we will have fire drills, but we will also have 3 ALICE drills and 3 Severe Weather drills. At this level, we remind the students often that these drills are just for practice in case we have an emergency. I will always let you know in the weekly newsletter when we have conducted our drills each month.
This week we had our first fire drill. The kids did a great job following the procedures. We will have our first ALICE drill in a few weeks. I will share more information about this when we get closer.
If you ever have any questions about our safety drills and procedures, please feel free to reach out to me.
Testing Tidbits
This week, our grades 1-4 classes began taking iReady Diagnostic tests. This assessment is done online and will determine where students will work individually on their online lessons. The testing window is open until September 2.
NWEA for grades K-4 is coming up soon! The testing window begins August 29. There will be more information regarding NWEA coming soon. Stay tuned!
I will keep you informed about any testing windows throughout the year. In addition, keep an eye on classroom communication for specific testing dates.
If you ever have any questions about assessments, feel free to reach out to me.
Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing our kiddos Monday!
