ILEARN Assessment April 26th through May 14th
Face-to-Face Students -
SMS face-to-face students will be completing the required ILEARN assessment on April 26th, April 27th, May 3rd, May 4th, May 5th, May 10th, and May 11th.Please be sure that your child attends school regularly on these days so they can test with their class rather than in a make-up setting. Students need to bring a fully charged iPad and earbuds (if possible) each day.
Online Students -
Our online students must come to SMS in order to participate in the assessments.
Each student will need to come to the building with a fully charged iPad and earbuds (if possible) on five different mornings in order to complete all the tests. There is no time limit for the testing, so we cannot provide an exact end time but most students will finish each day in approximately 2.5 hours.
We will begin testing the online students and the make up students at 8:20 a.m. on the following dates:
Wednesday, April 28th
Thursday, April 29th
Friday, April 30th
Thursday, May 6th
Friday, May 7th
Monday, May 10th
Tuesday, May 11th
Wednesday, May 12th
Thursday, May 13th
Friday, May 14th
Again, we need for each online student to attend the morning testing sessions on five of the above dates.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hammons at khammons@scsd2.k12.in.us or (812) 752-8926
Annual SMS Talent/Art Show
The SMS Talent and Art show is quickly approaching. The first round of auditions have already been held, but we'd like to give more talented students and/or staff the opportunity to participate. We will be holding one more audition/rehearsal this week in the Great Room after school until 4:15 on Thursday, April 29. If you have already sent a video or if you came to auditions in person, you may still attend Thursday to rehearse your act and get feedback. We are looking for singers, musicians, dancers and magicians! Don't miss this opportunity to show off your talent! The show will be held Friday, May 7 at 6pm in the Great Room with doors opening for the visual arts gallery at 5:30 pm.
If you are interested in participating in the visual art portion of the show, please see Mr. Heacock for an entry form. Your art could be something you worked on at school or something you did at home. Each piece of art must have a separate form and they must be given to Mr. Heacock by Thursday, May 6.
