Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- October 22, 2021

Principal's Message

Hello Seco Families,

Due to the number of students placed in quarantine since August 10th, the District is providing a minimum day on October 29th (all 6 periods meet) to be designated as teacher work time for the purpose of completing any documentation associated with the short term independent study agreements.

We will also have a minimum day on Friday, November 5 (all 6 periods) because of Saugus High School's Unity of Community Event at 12:30 that day. Please see below for more information.

Thank you as always for all of your support and have a fantastic weekend!

Unity of Community Event

On Friday, November 5, Saugus High School will be hosting a Unity of Community Event at 12:30. Unity of Community is being held to help us remember Dominick Blackwell and Gracie Muehlberger. Arroyo Seco will have a minimum day that day (dismissal at 11:35 am). While we know that not everyone will be able to participate, we wanted to make sure that families had the opportunity to attend the event, which is open to the public. More information about the event itself will be provided at a later date.

Teenage Grief Group (TAG)

The counseling department is offering a teenage grief group (TAG). The purpose of the group is to help students process their grief by participating in various healthy activities with peers who are also experiencing loss. Students will meet weekly on a rotating time schedule. If your child has experienced a loss of a significant person in their life within the last few years and you would like your child to participate in this group, please email Baily Wagner, school social worker at
