Literacy
Next week, we will begin to look at alliteration. Students will search for examples in our big book, Fox, Beware! We will continue to work on making connections through comparing and contrasting information. We will also continue to practice applying fix up strategies when encountering difficult words while reading.
Our spelling words will come from the -oad and -old families. They are as follows:
- bold
- cold
- fold
- load
- road
- his
- now
- coach
- golden
- +1 personal word to be decided as a class on Monday morning.
Revising and editing our stories will carry on through this week. We are practicing finding words that need to be capitalized as well looking for missing punctuation in our writing.
Math
We will begin topic 12: Comparing and Ordering Numbers to 100. Students will be introduced to the concept of 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less. We will also begin comparing numbers using the symbols >, <, and =.
